Uni-Ed v6.7
Written by Ray Akey for C-Net Amiga v2.96+
WHAT IS IT?
-----------
Uni-Ed is the ultimate User Editor and Access Group editor in one program.
It is capable of doing many things in one program instead of using 3 or 4
different C-Net commands (of which, some C-Net's VDE's doesn't have).
Why?
----
Simply because it makes better sense to have these two functions side by side
where you can reference between the two without having to run two seperate
programs and because all info is editable at the touch of a few keys instead
of making you hit [RETURN] 15 times or cursor around just to change that one
flag that you wish to change. AND NO MOUSE NEEDED! :)
Installation
------------
1. Copy Uni-Ed to your pfiles
2. Logon and x[A]dd or Adopt (AO) Uni-Ed to your C-Net pfiles in C-Net as a
[C]Net pfile.
3. Copy Uni-Edtext to your SYSTEXT: directory.
--
Uni-Ed's text is editable by loading Systext:Uni-Edtext into your favorite
text editor and making the changes to that file until it suits your tastes.
You can replace EA or EG with it as all changes to access groups are saved and
put into effect immediately after the changes are made. I used "UE" and to
add it as UE you do the following:
1. Search for the LAST line in the "Maintenance Commands" section of BBSMENU.
2. add the following line after your last "Maintenance Command":
UE, UEd |\#2Pfiles:Uni-Ed\
That's it, just reload C-Net and the command is now active.
Functions:
----------
The only EA functions that aren't supported in this version (but WILL
be eventually) are editing DATES. As I said this WILL be
added in a future release. All other functions are supported fully and will
continue to be updated as C-Net evolves!
Edit User
---------
If you make no changes, nothing will be touched. After making a
change to any account, the program senses this and saves the new info via
CNet's own routines. Give it a look. If you don't trust it, backup your
sysdata:bbs.udata file.. I guarantee it will not harm it in any way if
this documention is read and regarded completely.
Edit Access Group
-----------------
Lists access group numbers and names immediately upon entry to
avoid guessing for those who are like myself and can never remember what
those "barely" used access groups are.
Has every existing EG option covered! After changing
anything in the Access group you are editing/viewing, it will be saved and
put into effect immediately... Also, you will be asked whether or not you wish
to transpose the new info to ALL users (will be selectable in next version)
with that same access number/group.
Again, if no changes are made, nothing is changed in your access groups.
Changes are only made if YOU change them.
TRANSPOSE NOTE: Custom accounts will be overwritten so if you do not wish a
custom account to be changed, then bypass my transpose and use the one that
has been provided with C-Net .. I just added this as a possible means of
making things easier and a bit quicker for you. I don't have any custom
accounts on my system so I never really worked on this part yet.. I know
there ARE some sysops who do though so, I will be making very extensive
changes/additions in the future, In *ALL* areas of the program.
There is no fancy cursor movement (no offense) to make the screen update
seemedly faster since it is meant as a sysop program and, since the sysop
*usually* logs in on a local port, I decided to bypass the Aerobic cursor :)
thus making the program code shorter and more efficient.
Please see the section at the bottom of this doc if you wish to contact me
regarding ANY Uni-Ed function, bug, or suggestion.
For more information re:Uni-Ed functions, see the "Uni-Ed_version.doc" file
that should be included in the distribution archive.

Thanks for downloading this C-Net Utility and I hope you like it as much as
the local sysops here in Windsor, Ontario CANADA do. I've been working on it,
on and off, for the past year and support WILL continue for this program!
